Blogmas Day Fifteen | DIY Coffee Scrub

I'm sure most of us will agree, there is nothing better than scrubbing ourselves top to toe and leaving ourselves with silky smooth skin. There is a huge selection of exfoliators and scrubs to choose from but over the past year coffee scrubs seem to have taken over! Since I'm forever on a budget when it comes to beauty items I decided that the average £15 was just too much for me to spend on a scrub, so I instead set out to see how easy it would be to make my own! And guess what... it's super simple!

Benefits of a coffee scrub:
The oil leaves your skin soothed and moisturised
The combination of sugar and coffee exfoliates dead skin cells
The caffeine in the coffee helps to tighten your skin and prevent cellulite

All you're going to need:
Coffee grounds
Brown sugar
Coconut oil (or an oil of your choice)
Storage container

What you need to do:
Pour equal amount of coffee grounds and brown sugar into a mixing bowl. How much you use depends on how much scrub you want to make

Next add in the oil. If your coconut oil is in a solid state then I would recommend microwaving it slightly so it's liquid. Add in a tbsp of oil at a time until you get the consistency you would like.

If you want you can add in some optional extras such as: Cocoa, cinnamon, peppermint essence.

When you are finished store your scrub in a airtight container such as a mason jar. The scrub should keep for several months. If it seperates just remix.

And it's that simple! What DIY beauty products do you like to make?
